Why We Need Salvation
We need salvation because as imperfect people, we will always do things contrary to God’s law. In doing so, we
disqualify ourselves to live eternally with Him.
No matter what good we do, it will not make up for our sins and shortcomings. God promises that those who commit sin will be punished for doing so.
A quick look at some of the 10 commandments can show how we often disobey God’s law ( Exodus 20:1-17).
So what’s the solution (I Corinthians 6:9-11)?
Jesus Christ took the punishment for our sin when He died on the cross. As the only man to ever live without sin, He is the only one who could serve as our substitute.
All Jesus asks is that we accept His punishment as payment for our sins, confess this belief with our mouths, and honor Him by being obedient to His teachings.

- Commandment: You Shall Not Bear False Witness Against Your Neighbor
- How often have we told lies and been untruthful. This includes both intentionally misleading others and little white lies.
- Commandment: You Shall Not Steal
- Although we likely don’t make a practice of this, how many of us have stolen a piece of candy as a kid, paper from a classmate, or even supplies from the office?
- Commandment: You Shall Not Commit Adultery
- Jesus tells us that if a man looks at a woman and lusts after her in his heart, that the man is guilty of adultery. By this definition, perhaps every man I know is guilty of adultery. (Matthew 5:27,28)
