Pornography
The Bible tells us that if we look upon a person with intense sexual longings, we have committed adultery in our hearts. This does not mean that we can’t be physically attracted to someone of the opposite sex. It does mean, it
is a sin to indulge fantasies about being with a person to whom we are not married or to seek a sexual experience with them.
Pornography is an industry that supports this type of un-Christ like lusting and also promotes sex outside the confines of marriage. As a result, these materials should not be viewed or supported by
Christians.
Pornography is often addictive as represented by the testimonies of many people. Unfortunately, the viewing of pornography is often accompanied by masturbation which only strengthens a person’s connection to this
material.
Through the power of Christ however, these addictions can be broken.
It may take months or even years to break this addiction. Suggestions for gaining deliverance include reading scriptures and other Christian based material on sexual purity while avoiding exposure to sexually explicit material. Of course, prayer is a necessary component and fasting can also be beneficial.
