Feelings

One’s high school years can include periods of intense sexual feelings.  While attraction to the
opposite sex is natural, these feelings can be unnecessarily and unwisely intensified by what we allow ourselves to experience (sight, touch, taste, smell).

As individuals seeking to live sexually pure lives, we must minimize the times we listen to sexually explicit lyrics, watch suggestive music videos, view intimate scenes in movies, and encounter other suggestive
material.

Now as human beings, we will have sexual feelings. This is ok and natural. Also, we can’t avoid all sexual images as these images are abundant in today’s world.  The objective however is to avoid any unwise heightening of these desires while attempting to remain sexually pure.

Proverbs 4:23 – Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life

Galatians 6:7,8 – Don’t be misled – you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant. Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature.
But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit.

Song of Songs 8:4 – Promise me, O women of Jerusalem, not to awaken love until the time is right.

Matthew 6:22, 23 (* 22 - Your eye is a lamp that provides light for your body. When your eye is good, your whole body is filled with light.)

Philippians 4:8 - And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing.  Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable.  Think about things that are excellent and worhty of praise.
