Marriage

Young adulthood is the period of life when many choose to marry.  Apart from a person’s
relationship with God, the marital relationship is perhaps the most significant relationship an individual has in life.

Marriage is a beautiful union that mirrors Christ’s union with the church that will take place at the end of the
ages.

Through this union, a couple can accomplish a number of worthwhile tasks including but not limited to helping one another grow and mature in the Lord, rearing Godly offspring, and developing a ministry/ministries through which they can honor God.

Marriage is an institution ordained by God. However, as any relationship involving two imperfect beings is destined to have some conflict, so does marriage.

It is important to seek God’s guidance before entering marriage and to continue to do so throughout the
marriage.

It is through the family unit that we are able to produce unending generations that serve God and
others.

Helping one another
 ·  One of the many benefits of marriage is that spouses bless one another in a variety of ways. Some of these benefits might include the following:
     o   Assisting with spiritual maturity
o   Assisting with the fulfillment of God’s plan for your life
o   Helping recognize and encourage the good in you
     o   Providing continual companionship
     o   Celebrating accomplishments
     o   Providing encouragement when discouraged
o   Compensating for your weaknesses (Couples often have different strengths and weaknesses)
o   Providing support for important endeavors in life

Rearing godly offspring
God desires children in every generation. Christians are called to rear succeeding generations to serve the Lord. This goal is best facilitated through the family unit of two Christian parents.

Ministry
Ultimately we are all called to be servants of God and to honor him with our lives.  Married couples can be powerful ministry teams through which God can accomplish much.
